March

Hello and Happy Spring!

The May schedule includes Ladies clinics on Thursday & Friday mornings and Adult clinics on Saturday mornings.   The “It’s OK League” will continue in May and the next Golf 101 programs will start in May.

Simply sign-up online or reply to this email with the classes that you’d like to sign up for.   Please register at least 3 days prior to class.

Thursday Mornings – Ladies: These Ladies classes are held on the driving range and the topic varies by week.     Class size is limited to the first 6 to sign up (minimum of 3)    24hr cancellation required to maintain small class sizes.

Time:  8:30am – 9:30am  
Cost: $30 per person (includes practice balls)

Weekly Topics
May 5   –  Full Swing – Irons  (hitting greens!)
May 12  –  Pitching –  (getting up & over from 10, 20, 30, 40 yards)
May 19  –  The long game (hitting fairways, improving distance)

Time:  8:30am – 9:30am
Cost: $30 per person (includes practice balls)

The It’s OK League will continue!! –  The “It’s OK” golf league is designed for new, beginning and other golfers who just want to get out to play, have fun and meet other golfers.  This league (without pressure or strict rules) was such a huge hit in September, that Springfield is continuing to offer this great opportunity!  Dates, Tee times and Pricing are on the calendar.

Personalized Clinics – If these dates/times don’t work for you, we can personalize a session for 2 or more participants, where you choose the day of week, time of day and the topic.  Cost:   $60 per person for a group of 2,   $45 per person for a group of 3,  $35 per person for a group of 4-5,  $30 per person for a group of 6+.

Golf 101 program – The next Golf 101 programs are starting in May – Friday and Saturday mornings.   This is a 6 week course designed for new and beginning golfers to introduce you to golf in a safe, welcoming and FUN environment. Covers all aspects of the game – swing fundamentals (full swing, chipping, pitching, putting), basic rules, etiquette, other important things (like what to wear, how to make a tee time, how to practice, etc.) and on-course play.

JUNIOR CLINIC

April/May

Hello and Happy Spring!

Due to coach’s commitments next month, we are pausing the junior programs in May. The last Saturday junior class before summer is Saturday 4/30.

This update is lengthy as we are offering a number of programs in June and July – for both juniors and adults!  (Yes, we’d love to see the parents getting out to golf with their juniors and are offering a Golf 101 program for those parents who are new to the game!)

The schedule for the Summer Junior programs in is now available.   Be sure to sign-up early!  We are keeping our class sizes optimal for safety & learning and will use a waitlist once the classes are full.

Quick Summary for June:

  • Little Tots (ages 5 – 7) – classes on Friday mornings
  • Juniors (ages 8 – 11) – classes on Friday mornings
  • Juniors (ages 12 & up) –   9 hole on-course play & clinic (Tuesday and Thursday mornings)
  • Adult Golf 101 –  6 week Golf 101 program on Saturdays – starts May14th
  • Adult Saturday Morning clinics on 5/14 & 5/21

Sign-up online  at least 3 days before the class with the dates that you’d like to register for.   NOTE: There is a 24 hour cancellation policy so that we can invite juniors from the waiting list and to maintain an effective instructor/junior ratio.  

Junior Golf Schedule:

Friday Morning Little Tots Clinics – 8:30am  (ages 5-7)  (June 10, 17, 24)  For all skill levels   Cost:  $75 for all 3 weeks payment due June 10th.    Class size is limited to the first 8 to sign up

Friday Morning Junior Clinics –  9:45am  (ages 8-11)  (June 10, 17, 24)  For all skill levels  Cost:  $25 per week/per class (or $60 for all 3 weeks if paid by June 10th.)    Class size is limited to the first 12 to sign up

High School Learn and Play  (ages 12 & up) –  Tuesdays & Thursday 8:30am – 11am   (June 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30)   For those who are currently playing high school golf or are preparing to make their high school team. This program is a 1 hour clinic followed by playing 9 holes on the course.  Cost:  $45 per class.     (Includes green fee and requires Youth on Course card)
Adult Golf Schedule:

Adult Golf 101 –  Saturdays in May & June   (starts May14th)   6 week course designed for beginning golfers to introduce you to golf in a safe, welcoming and FUN environment. Other Junior Golf Opportunities

Springfield Twilight Rates – everyday after 2pm, a parent and junior can golf until sunset for only $25.  Prerequisite:  Junior must have Youth on Course card.

Drive, Chip, Putt – The USGA, Masters Tournament and PGA of America have announced registration for 2022-2023 Drive, Chip and Putt qualifying is now open. Registration is open to boys and girls aged 7-15.  Competition is in June!  So sign up now before it fills up.

Youth on Course – a non-profit organization that offers a junior membership to play at participating golf courses – year round – for just $5 per round.   Annual membership is only $15.  This membership can be renewed until your junior is 18!

Firebird Tournaments (Southwest PGA) – The Firebirds Junior Golf Development Club is open to all juniors ages 3 to 18 who are interested in learning about the wonderful game of golf! Divisions are based on skill level with 1, 3, 6, and two 9-hole divisions available.

Southwest PGA Junior Prep Tour – The very popular Southwest PGA Prep Tour has been a breeding ground for top junior golfers for over 30 years.  The tour is a series of one-day tournaments in June-July for boys and girls 18 and under.  There are eight (8) separate Districts in Arizona and Southern Nevada with six events in each District.

USKids – U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours are created to provide boys and girls, ages 5 to 18, the opportunity to advance their skills in the game in age-appropriate competition.

Girls Golf of Phoenix – For girls (ages 3 – 18).  The girls will LOVE the golf events that Cori Matheson hosts for the Girls Golf of Phoenix. Be sure to check out this amazing organization.
